    Overview

    The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is seeing a Planner IV in our Atlanta office.

    Job Summary

    With minimal supervision develops technical solutions and strategies for small-scale planning projects or for portions of larger projects. Responsible for proactively overseeing other project team members in development of solutions. May serve as a task leader or project manager on a limited basis for select small scale project. Task assignee on multiple projects.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Prepares scopes of work, fee proposals and assists with responses to RFP’s.
    • Coordinates with clients on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks.
    • May oversee the work of less experienced staff. Assists in directing teams for small scaled projects.
    • Conducts research and detailed analysis of data.
    • Interfaces with client group and community stakeholders. Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.
    • Identifies and recommends appropriate technical procedures that should be used on a project.
    • Prepares technical plans and reports.
    • Prepares written reports on small to medium sized planning projects. Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.
    • Uses technical software to perform project analysis.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

    - Provide technical and project management oversight of short-range and long-range transit planning studies and or projects.
    - Review and prepare environmental documents for MARTA's expansion program, i.e. BeltLine, I-20 East, Clifton Corridor and other transit expansion corridors.
    - Assists in the preparation of “Memoranda of Agreement” with appropriate stipulations, to mitigate unavoidable adverse effect of MARTA project impacting cultural resources as needed.
    - Assists and advises on environmental and historic preservation studies with various MARTA divisions and the Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA) Consultants as needed.
    - Conduct short-range and long-range transit planning studies inclusive of transit feasibility studies, peer agency reviews, operations analyzes and other transit related planning activities.
    - Leads and participates in internal and external public meetings, community meetings and other public outreach efforts.
    - Develops, reviews and evaluates scopes of work, project budgets and project deliverables
    - Successful candidate will be co-located at MARTA working directly for the Authority.
    - Conduct research and detailed analysis of data.
     

    Basic Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field
    6 years related experience
    4 years related experience (with Master's degree in Planning or related)

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    RLA, RA, PE registration or AICP, CEP certification

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
