    The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is currently seeking a Project Director in our Los Angeles office.


    Have strong delivery experience working on complex projects.  Should have the ability to understand contracts and ability to mobilize and work collaboratively with HNTB national resources.  Also, have the ability to build relationships with the City of Los Angeles staff at all levels.





    Job Summary

    Responsible for the profitable operation of large, mega projects.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Responsible for managing and delivering mega projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
    • Develops and nurtures key client relationships and is the primary company contact on the project.
    • Identifies and markets additional business opportunities with key clients.
    • Sets priorities, secure resources and obtain commitment to work according to the project planned with department managers and section heads.
    • Consistently maintains an overall view for the progress of the assigned project.
    • Oversees the Project Managers and as a functional manager, to support with the right resources, competencies and tools that are available.
    • Ensures the achievement of product quality, project targets, budget control and project profitability over the project portfolio.
    • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    16 years engineering experience, including directing large mega projects

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    Master's degree in Engineering
    - Requires excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills,
    - Requires ability to interface with client as firm representative.
    - Strong delivery experience on complex project
    - Design Build experience – experience working with contractors
    - Bridge experience preferred
    - Ability to understand contacts
    - Ability to build relationships

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
