    The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB's Turnpike team is seeking a Right of Way Project Manager at our client field office in Ocoee, Florida. 

    Job Summary

    Works with public agencies and private individuals to identify, negotiate, and purchase private property for public use or private projects.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Communicates with property owner(s) to identify property that could be used in public projects.
    • Negotiates offering price for property.
    • Reviews property appraisals to assess value of private property for acquisition.
    • Works with design engineers and staff, reviews highway right-of-way plats, and interprets construction plans to determine where property may need to be acquired.
    • Networks with government officials and staff to understand public project goals and issues relating to property acquisition.
    • Pursues modifications of utility rights to create more land for public/project use.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

    - Plan and schedule property acquisition activities for large-scale design/build and traditional delivery highway projects.
    - Negotiation and acquisition of rights of way, easements and license agreements for FDOT highway projects
    - Relocation of displacees (residential and business) according to the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act of 1970 (Uniform Act), as amended, including the calculation of Replacement Housing Payments, issuance of notices and processing of payment claim
    - Support of the client and coordination among team members focused on right of way acquisition, relocation activities, consultant management and production
    - Support and work closely with the client in meeting tight right of way acquisition and relocation project schedules and in ensuring acquisition and relocation activities are in compliance with the Uniform Act and agency policies and procedures
    - Provide right of way related support activities to client including project related activities
    - Perform quality assurance and quality control of contract consultants performing property acquisition and relocation of displaced persons, businesses and personal property.

    Basic Qualification

    High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
    5 years Real Estate/Right of Way experience
    Real Estate Sales or Broker License

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent real estate/right of way experience
    • 5+ years broad based right of way experience.
    • 2+ years of Project Management experience with proven ability to perform
    • Experience with FDOT highway acquisition projects and RWMS
    • Working knowledge of real property law principles and concept.
    • Working knowledge of real property appraisal
    • Strong knowledge of real property acquisition principles and methods
    • Strong knowledge of business and residential relocation procedures
    • Thorough knowledge of land title and right of way documents
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to read, review and understand right of way plans, legal descriptions and title documents
    • Willingness to travel in state for upcoming and future projects
    • Possession of a Florida Sales Associated License is required
    • Possession of a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License is preferred


    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
