    Overview

    Our Atlanta, Georgia office is seeking a part-time, GIS Intern to join our Planning team in January 2019.

     

    Relocation is not provided for this position.

    Job Summary

    Under close supervision, assist departments by performing basic assignments in the areas including, but not limited to Science, Planning, Technology.  Position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.

     

    Essential Responsibility

    • Assists project team members with various support tasks.  
    • Conducts basic research and data collection.
    • Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
    • Assist in the development of presentation materials and reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

    - Assists design office in various tasks and duties.
    - Assists Senior GIS Analyst with research, development and design of projects.
    - Assists the GIS team with the preparation of maps, graphics and documents as assigned.
    - Performs other duties as assigned.
    - Perform data collection
    - Organize data
    - Assist with basic GIS maps
    - Field data collection

    Basic Qualification

    High School/GED or equivalent
    Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary degree program.

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    - Completion of at least 3 years of post-secondary GIS, Environmental or related field
    - Advanced knowledge and expierence using the ESRI suite.

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment:  Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.  Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
