    Overview

    The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is currently seeking a Public Involvement Representative in our Atlanta, Ga office.

    Job Summary

    Coordinates and implements public involvement programs for clients to facilitate communication and acceptance of projects and initiatives.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Assists in research projects relative to environmental impact evaluations.
    • Conducts routine investigations and collect data needed for environmental impact evaluations.
    • Prepares and coordinates dissemination of community relations materials, facts and information about client activities to external agencies, associations, and news organizations using print, periodicals, radio and/or visual communication media.
    • Completes routine records and reports related to public involvement meetings and public hearings.
    • Helps coordinate community meetings including scheduling, determining location, and ensuring proper setup and materials are present.
    • May interact with clients to coordinate implementation of communication programs.
    • Drafts speeches, create and design presentation materials, and/or compose correspondence for use in mailings and/or meetings.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

     
    - Provide communications support for transportation and transit programs and projects.
    -
    Supporting public sector communications and stakeholder engagement,

    - Assisting with internal and external communications activities,
    - Assisting with content development for digital platforms and collateral,
    - Providing support for special events,
    - Providing support for media relations activities,
    - Supporting public information and outreach initiatives,
    - Assisting with social media campaigns,
    - Graphic design,
    - Assisting with survey campaigns.
    - Experience working with public sector owners/agencies to support communications, marketing and outreach campaigns and coordination with the general public and stakeholders.
    - Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
    - Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
    - Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
    - Demonstrated ability to work well within a team setting and independently with minimal supervision.
    - Attention to detail and good organization skills.
    - Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
    - Experience with other programs including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and WordPress is preferred.
    - Other duties as assigned or requested by management.
     

    Basic Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field
     

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    2 years related experience
    - Good communication skills, particularly in terms of writing
    - Basic graphic design skills 
    - Social media skills

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
