    Job Summary

    Senior level professional that supports corporate financial and business operations reporting working closely with management as it relates to all aspects of business operations; with emphasis on accurate financial and project reporting, and strategic initiatives/process improvements. Collaborate with leadership within the organization and acts as an advisor on issues relating to areas of expertise. May design, develop, implement and maintain technical business solutions. Provides expert level financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support management decision making. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of analytic concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrates strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to communicate findings to business leaders in a way that influences how HNTB approaches a business challenge.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Supports corporate, divisions, offices and service lines in their use of accounting/financial information for planning and problem solving including reporting of information, benchmarking of results preparation of special studies and analyses as required including specific recommendations. Responsible for financial and operational projections and analysis activities including interpretation of past, present and indicated future results of the firm and divisions and specific project related scenarios. Utilizes comprehensive understanding of margin levers and key metrics. Consistently analyzes by using a logical systematic process to assist in decision-making.
    • Provides consultation to senior leaders to help them make key business decisions regarding strategic planning or complex projects and is considered to be a top level contributor/specialist.         
    • Identifies, pursues, and executes high-level projects to enhance Sales, Revenue, Earnings and Cash.
    • Responsible for leading and supporting initiatives aimed at driving consistency in our operations, implementing best business practices, effective use of technology and other special projects or initiatives relating to business/operations, as assigned, to help support consistency and quality in results (i.e., cash management, backlog, reserves, etc.). Researches and interprets basic and complex issues surrounding processes, evaluates existing systems, leads code reviews, and appraises user needs in order to identify technical solutions to high profile business problems, practices or inefficiencies. Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
    • Provides a high level of expertise and comfort level with the way in which the project management system (including the reporting tool) operates and develops the ability to investigate potential situations where a report may need to be added, enhanced, changed, etc. Including working knowledge of processes and systems and potential impacts. May include participation in corporate training programs on PM and financial system. Work with IT as new upgrades, reports, corporations, etc. are added to the project management system to ensure a smooth transition.
    • Hires, supervises and trains financial analysts and/or project analyst.   Responsible for assignment of projects and tasks and for first-level review of deliverables. Responsible for all aspects of CPD process, including goal setting, coaching, and performance evaluation.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting
    10 years finance, business, accounting experience
    In lieu of education, 14 years finance, business, accounting experience

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    Master's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting
    10 years finance, business, accounting experience
    - Proven people management and supervisory skills
    - Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
    - Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly and in support of changing priorities
    - Ability to establish relationships and interface with customers and employees at all levels of the organization
    - Proficient in Excel
    - Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading meetings and formally presenting recommendations

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
