    The time is right to join HNTB! We are currently seeking a Sr Project Manager - Traffic Design in our Miami, FL office.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of $10M-30M.

    Essential Responsibility

    • Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
    • Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
    • Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
    • Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.
    • Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

    - Identifies and markets business opportunities with key clients.
    - Develops and enhances key client relationships and serve as one of the primary company contacts.
    - Secures and manages the profitable operation of multiple projects or major transportation projects.
    - Individual will have full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management on large and multiple transportation projects.
    - Actively manage HNTB budget and schedule, project communications and documentation.
    - Administer relevant aspects of a formal quality control program.
    - Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed.
    - Manages and delivers quality civil transportation projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
    - Prepare project plans and specifications for Traffic Design such as signalization, roadway lighting, signing and marking plans.
    - Prepare or assist with plans and specifications for design of fiber optic cable systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras, Microwave Vehicle Detection System (MVDS) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS).
    - Perform feasibility studies and concept design to support TSM&O projects.
    - Conduct traffic design field reviews, data collection and analysis and preparation of satisfactory designs.
    - Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications.
    - Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings.
    - Review and comment Traffic Design plans, shop drawings on various on-call program management assignments.
    - Perform and review FDOT Traffic Studies.

    Basic Qualification

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    16 years relevant experience
    6 years project management experience

    Preferred Qualification/Skills

    - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering required, Master’s degree preferred
    - 16 or more years of experience in the business development, design, management and implementation of highway/roadway transportation projects.
    - Extensive business development and project management experience with various governmental agencies (FDOT, FTE, cities, and counties).
    - Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (PE)
    - Strong relationships with FDOT District 6 & 4 preferred.
    - Design software experience with MicroStation (FDOT Design)
    - South Florida Traffic Design and ITS design experience with local agency requirements such as Miami Dade County, District 4, District 6, MDX and FTE

    General Work Conditions

    Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
