HNTB is looking to hire a talented Track and Rail Resident Engineer to work out of our Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Deerfield Beach, or Miami, FL offices.
The candidate will act on behalf of the client to manage the day to day oversight of rail system construction contracts with an estimated value ranging from $5 to $20 mill. The candidate must have demonstrated competency in one or more of the categories mentioned. The candidate must be familiar with one or more of the various rapid transit and commuter railroad clients’ standards and operating and force account procedures. The candidate must have a successful track record previously working with railroad clients and issues involved with managing construction work around passenger rail operations. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be proactive with client(s) to balance multiple competing needs such as construction, rail operation, and station facility operations and force account availability.
Responsible for overall field contract management, administration and coordination on mid to large size projects of a diverse and complex nature. Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating construction engineering assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significant affect major corporate programs. Responsible for monitoring assigned staff to determine that the contractor's activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design specifications and contractual requirements. On-site liaison between Client, Company Personnel and Contractor I in resolution of project issues. Act as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, techniques and procedures for an assigned area of responsibility. Analyze complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel. Represents projects at meetings and conferences.
