The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is currently seeking a Business Insurance Specialist to join our team in Kansas City, MO.

Job Summary

Supports Business Insurance Manager and Risk Manager regarding various aspects of corporate insurance programs and general risk management activities.

Essential Responsibility

  • Produces insurance certificates for clients (new projects and annual renewals).
  • Logs and maintains subconsultant insurance certificates; reviews such certificates for contract compliance.
  • Reviews insurance requirements in client-drafted contracts.
  • Processes payment of insurance-related invoices; tracks workers’ compensation claims (within policy deductible)
  • Assists with annual policy renewals and maintains policy updates; tracks and processes annual renewals of various project-specific policies (RPL, OCIP, CCIP)
  • Gathers, processes, and maintains information and/or documentation related to all the above.

Basic Qualification

High School/GED or equivalent
5 years of experience in risk management and/or insurance field

Preferred Qualification/Skills

Associate Degree 
3 years of insurance or risk management experience.
In lieu of degree, 5 years experience in property and casualty insurance field
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access)

General Work Conditions

Office Environment:  Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.  Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
