The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is currently seeking a Oracle EBS Appications DBA III to join our IT Team in Kansas City, MO.  This position designs, plans, implements and supports complex and diverse initiatives.  Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues that are assigned to the team. This position is able to gather and monitor appropriate metrics required for proactive sustainment of IT systems. Responsible for planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of complex IT requirements.  Solid knowledge and experience in own discipline.  Works independently with minimal guidance.  May serve as resource to less experienced employees.

Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving advanced database issues that are assigned to the team. Also responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, backups, deployments, and documentation of various database solutions. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation. Serves as escalation point for and Level I and II network engineers.

Essential Responsibility

  • Manages tickets assigned to the team.
  • Works on business and IT projects.
  • Troubleshoots advanced technical issues.
  • Performs database installations, configuration, tuning, and upgrades.
  • Creates and updates technical documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree
4 years database operations experience
In lieu of education, 8 years database operations experience
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL
- Working knowledge of Oracle databases

Preferred Qualification/Skills

Solid knowledge and experience in the following areas:
  Oracle EBS version 12.x administration (Financials, HRMS, Payroll, Advanced Benefits and iExpense)
  Oracle EBS Patching (RUP, End of year, HRMS Payroll, Quarterly, Monthly, etc..)
  Oracle Database version 11.x administration
  Working with Oracle support to resolve SRs
  Oracle EBS cloning processes to lower environments
  RHEL 6.5 support and maintenance (Patching, backups, etc..)
  Disaster recovery solution management for Linux and Oracle EBS
Additional preferred experience in the following areas:
  Managing Oracle EBS Application Security
  Managing Oracle Cloud Services (Iaas, Paas, Saas, etc..)
 Upgrading Oracle RDBMS and EBS to newer versions
  Oracle WebLogic/WebCenter 11g, 12c administration
Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
