Overview

The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is currently seeking a Public Information Director in our Atlanta, Georgia office.

Job Summary

Ensures timely, accurate and effective communications about the GDOT’s Office of Innovative Delivery Program, and provides leadership and coordination among the OID team on matters of internal and external communications, public outreach and government affairs.

Essential Responsibility

  • Manages overall communications efforts for the OID team, including overseeing staff members.
  • Develops strategic communications and public outreach plans for the overall program, as well as various individual projects and special initiatives.
  • Develops messaging, speeches, presentations and other tools to communicate program information to various internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinates and manages meetings, special events and other activities.
  • Develops and oversees production of delivery program reports and other materials.
  • Supports GDOT personnel, other consultants and contractors in effectively communicating about the delivery program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science or related field
10 years Communications, Public Affairs or Government Relations experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills

 
12 years related experience
APR or IABC certification
- Government Relations
- Communication/Organizational Management Theory
- Performance Measurement
- Strategic Thinking Skills
- Project Management Skills

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
