The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB is seeking a Geospatial System Developer II in our Tallahassee, FL. office.

Job Summary

Intermediate level position preparing GIS data support, including analysis support, data conversion/migration and map productions, with minimal supervision on projects.

Essential Responsibility

  • Interacts directly with clients, both internal and external, and provides training and process knowledge to promote GIS.
  • Provides GIS technical support and promotes GIS technology to design offices.
  • Provides market research and business development consulting as needed.
  • Develops and completes a GIS project lifecycle, requirements through implementation.
  • Develops or maintains GIS applications using a combination of GIS software, web-based development tools, and/or Windows development tools.
  • Develops applications using Arcview software to enhance existing and future GIS projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Additional Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, refines and maintains customized Interactive Web GIS applications.
Meets with clients to define project requirements, analyzes requirements and develops detailed design specifications, codes, tests, debugs and deploys web GIS applications.
Creates and solves moderately complex technical problems with geospatial systems.
Designs and creates geodatabases, performs ETL tasks, performs advanced geospatial analyses, creates executive report-quality maps and geospatial products.
Provides input to the business development process, such as defining proposed milestones, estimating work, documenting understanding of need and process to fulfill need.
Performs multiple concurrent assignments.
Continually evaluates work processes and contributes to technology, methodology and process standards.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning or other related field of study
3 years related experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products

Preferred Qualification/Skills

3+ years of ESRI JavaScript API / HTML5 experience
3+ years of experience creating customized web mapping applications using Templates and Web App Builder
2+ years of experience publishing feature/web services to ArcGIS Online
2 years of Esri ArcSDE/ SQL server geodatabase experience
Expert knowledge of geospatial processes and mapping concepts such as Spatial Reference systems and transformations.
2 years of experience with PL/SQL, T-SQL, SQL
Portal for ArcGIS
Dynamic Segmentation and Linear Referencing
Proficiency with Python Scripting and Model Builder
Collector for ArcGIS, Survey 123, GIS solutions for crowd sourcing information

General Work Conditions

Office Environment:  Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.  Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
