Overview

The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!   HNTB Corporation is currently seeking a Construction Oversight Manager in our Corpus Christi, Texas office.

 

 

Job Summary

Responsible for providing overall Field Contract administration and coordination on a mega program or mega project of a diverse and complex nature. Supervises assigned staff to verify that the Contractor’s activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design specifications and contractual requirements. Primary on-site liaison between Client, Company Personnel and Contractor for resolution of project issues.

Essential Responsibility

  • Implements on-site procedures to assist staff in performing their work.
  • Collects data to brief Client on Project Issues and provides possible resolutions.
  • Reviews and drafts responses to Contractor’s correspondence as required.
  • Reads and interpret plans.
  • Monitors Contractor progress and compares with reviewed Progress Schedule.
  • Mentors and trains staff.
  • Administers JPI’s and Budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Supervise compliance inspectors and OVT material testing subconsultant

Track non-conformance reports

Review OVI reports and approve

 Coordinate with Owner Verification Testing Manager on required testing


- Review and draft responses to Contractor’s correspondence as required, including RFIs, schedule updates, payment requests

Attend routine coordination and work activity meetings with Client and Contractor

- Facilitate Construction staff meetings and manage meeting agendas and summary notes
- Compliance oversight of QA/QC construction activities, including schedule adherence, draw request compliance, quality of material and workmanship, sequence of construction and compliance with Contractor’s safety and quality plans
- Identify potential claim situations

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Science or related degree
20 years related experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills

PE or RA
Design Build experience
TxDOT experience

General Work Conditions

Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
