Overview

The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  HNTB Architecture, an award winning, multidisciplinary firm known and respected for its work in aviation, sports, convention centers, transit, and other architectural services, is seeking an Architect III to support our New York City office.  This position is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions.

Job Summary

  • Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design and coordination of large complex projects.
  • Desired results are indicated in broad term or objectives
  • Applies diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad array of assignments and related fields.
  • Independently makes decisions on significant architectural design problems and methods.
  • Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating architectural design assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect major projects.
  • Assignments frequently involve researching unusual and non-recurring problems.
  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client's needs.
  • Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs.
  • Reviews and approves conceptual designs.
  • Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects.
  • Makes recommendations on design alternatives and assists in proposal preparation.
  • Viewed as an expert resource; provides technical guidance to others.

Essential Responsibility

 

Bachelors degree in Architecture plus 3-6 years of experience.

Additional Responsibilities

- Experience with Bentley Microstation for project documentation preferred.

Preferred Qualification/Skills

- Must have at least 5 years of experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe CC Suite and Revit technologies
- Experience working on Transportation projects preferred
- Ability to travel at least 5% of the time
