The time is right to join HNTB Corporation!  We are currently seeking a Public Involvement Director in our Atlanta, GA office.

Job Summary

Design strategies to enhance changes for acceptance by the public and political officials. Develops innovative approaches for informing the public and generating feedback. Coordinates and implement media relations strategies, including producing media releases and media kits, conducting news conferences, conducting opinion research, implementing direct mail campaigns. Organizes and facilitate public meetings. Writes and produce newsletters, flyers, briefing books, manuals, brochures and a variety of other written products.

Essential Responsibility

  • Interacts with clients to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to manage general public, as well as public officials, input and understanding of projects.
  • In conjunction with other project leadership, presents proposals and strategies to clients to help win work.
  • Plans, develops, and leads public involvement strategies and programs for clients to facilitate communication and acceptance of projects and initiatives. Sets goals and objectives for the public involvement program, identify potential audiences, review who is affected directly and indirectly, identify and involve new individuals and groups that appear.
  • Directs and manages the public involvement staff in developing and administering public involvement programs.
  • Oversees efforts of support staff to assure successful implementation and/or development of events, print and graphic materials as scoped providing direction as needed.
  • Directs the development of and approves speeches, presentation materials, correspondence, and other media for use in presentations, mailings and/or meetings.
  • Develops strategy and coordinates dissemination of facts and information about client activities to external agencies, associations, and news organizations using print, radio and/or visual media.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field
10 years related experience
4 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills

12 years related experience
APR or IABC certification

- Performance Measurement

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
