HNTB is seeking an Architectural Project Structural Engineer in our Kansas City, Missouri office.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Job Summary

Provides a significant depth of technical experience in structuring engineering of buildings to analyze and evaluate complex design problems efficiently and provide viable solutions within established schedule and budget. Job involves all aspects of building projects from conceptual design through construction.

Essential Responsibility

  • Provides execution and control of structural engineering project assignments to achieve project goals within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial startup through project completion.
  • Leads structural engineering tasks, such as research for code and project criteria, design calculations, quantity estimates and detailing.
  • Leads preparation of design drawings and/or specifications and construction phase engineering tasks.
  • Coordinates efforts of assigned design team and provides quality assurance and control of assigned projects.
  • Serves as structural engineering liaison with client and project team disciplines on project efforts.
  • Leads in scheduling and checking work of project team members.
  • Technically involved in the design of building structures that may include performing detailed checking of engineering work done by others or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering
6 years related experience
Revit skills

Preferred Qualification/Skills

Master's degree with Structural Engineering focus
PE or SE license required
 

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
