The time is right to join HNTB!  We are a national transportation infrastructure firm that offers extensive design, engineering and planning services to federal, state and local public and private clients. HNTB’s talented and dedicated professionals provide design and planning expertise that exceeds expectations. HNTB is seeking an Office Engineer in our New York Field Offices.

 

Performs contract administration functions for medium to large projects and programs of a diverse nature. Assists in performing field inspection of multiple routine contractor activities in order to monitor individual contractor's)' compliance with specifications, plans and other contract provisions. Assignments are complex and non-routine and normally related to multiple, large, and/or diverse projects

Job Summary

Maintains files of project/program records and documentation
Reviews inspector's daily reports for quantities, contractor's progress and as-constructed data.
Reviews schedules and facilitates resolution in problem situations
Prepares/reviews monthly construction estimates
Assists project administration in monitoring internal project controls
Monitors project schedules
Assist in issue resolution
Assist in claims documentation
Act as project/program manager as needed.

 

Essential Responsibility

  • BS in Engineering plus a minimum of three years of construction experience.
  • NY construction office experience 
  • Approximately 5 years’ experience preferred

  • Familiarity with State/City change order process and recordkeeping

 

 

 

 

Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.
