HNTB Corporation has a great opportunity for an Electrical Department Manager in our Bellevue, WA office. to oversee and provide leadership for all activities of the Electrical Engineering Department including planning, preliminary, final design and construction administration for state and municipal clients and Design Build Projects. Manage between 10-20 employees.

Job Summary

  • Coordinate all activities of the group. Operate group productivity within budgetary limits. Lead group’s marketing program locally and assist with pursuing and delivering electrical engineering services nationally. Perform client audits. Produce quality products. Participate actively in management team for Northwest District.


  • Usually involves work in several areas or functions that are often beyond the scope of standard procedures. May determine when and to what extent standard procedures should be applied.


  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff members, as well as establishing and approving budgets for the group. In addition individual must be able to develop and maintain staffing plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring that work products are submitted on time and meet project/office QA/QC requirements.


  • Projects vary from transit and aviation facilities, roadway ITS and illumination, tunnel electrical work, and other transportation infrastructure projects that require electrical input and design.


  • Able to understand contractual obligations on Design-Build projects to determine requirements and produce design packages that meet the project expectations.



Essential Responsibility

  • PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 15 years minimum of experience in electrical design/management in an A/E firm or public agency or both.
  • Electrical  power experience in civil market sector.
