The time is right to join HNTB!  We are seeking candidates for the position of Instrumentation and Control/Electrical Engineer  in our Indianapolis, Indiana office.

Job Summary

 

  • Prepares  electrical and instrumentation and control designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Prepares process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, instrument installation details, and instrumentation and control wiring schedules.
  • Provides quality assurance on electrical projects involving instrumentation and control design.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to other engineers on electrical design projects.
  • Exhibits knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Coordinates projects with clients.

 

Essential Responsibility

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering  
  • 5 years of experience in instrumentation and controls aspects of electrical engineering with water/wastewater or industrial designs

Preferred:

  • Indiana PE or ability to obtain within six months
  • Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic control (PLC) systems, industrial ethernet networks, field instruments such as flow meters and pressure transmitters, drives and actuators, and wired and wireless telemetry systems.
  • Membership in the International Society of Automation (ISA).
  • Ability to obtain Certified Automation Professional (CAP) status within 1 year.

Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.
